Connecting Arendtian scholarship with today's political challenges, across disciplinary boundaries.
The center promotes philosophical and political research inspired by Hannah Arendt’s thought, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and informed participation in public life.
Founded in 2016 within the Department of Human Sciences of the University of Verona, the center is interdisciplinary in character, connecting Arendtian scholarship with present-oriented political research. Its themes include freedom, plurality, individual responsibility, public life, totalitarianism, historical memory, power and violence, with particular attention to gender, motherhood, care, vulnerability and feminist political theory. Director Olivia Guaraldo often returns to the Arendtian notion of “public happiness.”
